Police arrested a 27-year-old and 28-year-old man after they assaulted and stole the cell phone of another man in the Pinehurst neighborhood early Monday morning.
Police were dispatched at 2:15 a.m. to a report of a robbery in the 11700 block of 15 Ave. NE. The victim told officers that he was watching a man instigate a fight with a couple of people. The victim held up his cell phone to document the altercation but the instigator came over and confronted him. The suspect tried to grab his phone and a struggle ensued. Another suspect jumped into the fight causing the victim several minor injuries and the loss of his cell phone.
Officer Serpanos found the suspects in a green Subaru Legacy a half hour later just blocks from the robbery. Officers brought the victim by and he confirmed the men were the same two who robbed him.
The victim’s cell phone was returned after it was found on the car seat where a suspect was sitting.
The men were booked into King County Jail for investigation of robbery.
