Seattle police negotiators convinced a West Seattle man in crisis to surrender to officers Tuesday afternoon following a domestic violence incident.
Police responded to a call about a domestic disturbance at a home in the 3700 block of southwest 106th Street just after 4:15 PM, and learned the man was reportedly in the home with three children–ages 7, 8 and 12–and may have had access to a firearm.
Officers were able to get the children out of the home while negotiators made contact with the man, eventually convincing him to surrender.
Police took the man into custody and medics transported him to Harborview Medical Center for mental health services.
