Gang Unit detectives are conducting the follow up investigation after shots were fired at a motel last night on Aurora Avenue North. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.
At around 6:20 pm, witnesses reported seeing a SUV pull into the parking lot of a motel at N. 88th and Aurora Avenue North and one of the occupants fire several gunshots into one of the rooms. The vehicle then sped off. Officers responded and searched for any victims. Nearby rooms were cleared and made safe with the assistance of King County Sheriff’s Guardian One helicopter. Officers located several shell casings at the scene and there was damage to one of the motel rooms, but no reported injuries.
A few blocks away officers stopped a possible suspect vehicle and detectives interviewed the occupants. The driver and passenger were released after the interview and the vehicle was impounded pending a search warrant. The Gang Unit will continue to follow up on this investigation.
