A woman is in custody and several other people are hospitalized following a bizarre situation that unfolded yesterday evening.
At about 5:30 pm, a man reported that his female acquaintance, whom he had just met, took the truck he was driving without permission from the 9700 block of Holman Road NW. The woman sped off, driving recklessly until she collided into a building at 92nd and Holman. Seattle Fire responded and transported the injured to Harborview Medical Center.
Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) responded and processed the scene. The intersection was closed for hours as the investigation was conducted, but the roadway has since been reopened. The suspect, 30, was later booked into the King County Jail for vehicular assault and felony hit and run. The other victims remain hospitalized with serious injuries. This remains an on-going investigation.
