Sexual Assault Investigation in University District

Detectives are investigating a report of a sexual assault in the University District.

The female victim told police she was walking in the 5200 block of 15th Avenue NE in the late evening hours of May 6th when she was approached by a man, described as a white male, in his 20’s, approximately 5’8″ tall with blonde hair and wearing glasses.  He was also reportedly walking a dog.

The suspect and victim walked together northbound on 15th Avenue NE until they reached NE 56th Street.  There, the suspect sexually assaulted the woman in an alley before fleeing.  The victim reported the incident several days later.

SPD Sexual Assault Unit detectives are investigating.  Anyone with information about this crime or suspect is asked to contact Seattle Police at (206) 684-5575.  At this time, detectives have not found any connection between this assault or any other active investigations.
