A woman is in the hospital with serious injuries after she was struck by a car Monday night while she was crossing the street at 37th Avenue South and Martin Luther King Jr. Way South.
At approximately 6:50 pm, an adult woman was crossing the street when she was struck by a dark colored sedan. According to witnesses, the vehicle continued driving northbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Way S. Seattle Fire responded and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center.
Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) responded and began their initial investigation at the scene. A possible suspect vehicle and driver were detained and interviewed but after further analysis, was determined not to have been involved.
Witnesses could only describe the suspect vehicle as a dark colored sedan, possibly with front end damage.
