SPD Working Closely With Rock & Roll Marathon, Pridefest Organizers

The Seattle Police Department will have an increased and visible presence at the upcoming Rock and Roll Marathon and Seattle Pridefest following the horrific act of bigotry and terrorism committed at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando on Sunday, June 12.

Police are working closely with event coordinators to and are asking attendees to report any suspicious activity to police and event staff.

SPD and our federal law enforcement partners continue to monitor for any potential threats in the region, but are not aware of any specific threat to Seattle at this time.

In addition to increased police presence at upcoming events, Seattle police and the city’s Office of Film and Music have opened enrollment for two upcoming trainings to nightlife and event staff, to provide them with strategies and information on how to respond to gun violence and active shooter scenarios.
