Seattle Police officers responded to a report of a shooting at an encampment in the 1200 block of Airport Way around 8:20 p.m. on July 3rd. Officers quickly found the victim, a 36-year-old woman living in the encampment, suffering from a single gunshot wound to her abdomen.
The victim provided a description of the shooter to officers, and indicated that she knew the suspect. Officers scoured the area, but were unable to find him.
Medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center for emergency surgery and additional medical care.
Homicide detectives assigned to the case worked to identify the shooter, and after relentless follow up, patrol officers arrested him on Monday.
Homicide detectives have forwarded the case to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for consideration of charges.
