Officers are investigating after two men were stabbed Downtown late Tuesday night.
An officer on a traffic stop was approached in the 300 block of Pine St. at 11 PM by a man saying there was someone getting stabbed around the corner. The officer ran to the scene and saw multiple people fleeing the area. As the officer made his way further down the street he found a 50-year-old man and a 26-year-old man who had both been stabbed multiple times. Both victims said they were trying to break up a fight when they were stabbed by an unknown man who fled before the officer arrived.
Officers checked inside a nearby convenience store and found the clerk knew a person who claimed to have been in attacked and was going to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries. Officers went to the hospital and found a 36-year-old man who said the two stabbing victims attacked him causing multiple injuries. The man said that he stabbed the two men after they attacked him.
Detectives are examining evidence from the scene and will work with prosecutors to determine what charges, if any, will be filed against the involved parties.
