Gang Unit detectives are investigating after a 17-year-old shot himself in the hand in the Mt. Baker neighborhood Friday afternoon.
A teenage girl called 911 report a shooting and that her boyfriend had a gunshot wound. Officers responded to the 3400 block of 34 Ave S. to investigate. Seattle Fire medics transported the 17-year-old victim to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives spoke to the teenage girl and she showed them the basement of the home where the shooting occurred. Detectives believe the victim’s injuries were possibly self-inflicted. This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
