Officers arrested a 30-year-old man early this morning after receiving reports of a possible car prowl in progress near Denny Park.
Shortly after 7:00 am on Wednesday, officers responded to a report of a possible car prowl in progress in the 700 block of John Street. The caller stated that a male and a female were removing luggage from a car and then carrying the luggage into the park.
Officers arrived and contacted the male inside the park. Officers also located the vehicle, and checked the license plate. The plate came back as a verified stolen vehicle out of Issaquah. The witness was brought by the scene and positively identified the male as the one seen removing the luggage. The suspect was arrested without incident.
Officers saw what appeared to be a large amount of stolen property in the back of the stolen vehicle. Detectives from the Major Crimes Task Force responded and impounded the vehicle and possible stolen property. The suspect informed officers that he had swallowed narcotics prior to contact with officers, so he was transported to the hospital to be evaluated.
Officers will book the suspect into King County Jail when he is discharged from the hospital, and detectives will continue the follow-up investigation.
