Officers arrested a 51-year-old man this morning after he reportedly stole a woman’s purse and tried to sell her bus pass downtown.
At about 7:15 am, the 39-year-old female victim called 911 and said the known suspect had struck her in the face and fled with her purse.
Officers arrived at 3rd Avenue and Pine Street and located both the victim and suspect, who had reportedly tried to sell the woman’s bus pass to another person on the street.
The victim told officers that the suspect accused her of owing him money, and then assaulted her for her cell phone, bus card and purse.
Officers arrested the suspect and booked him into King County Jail for robbery.
