Detectives are asking the public for help identifying the suspects in the video below after a man was confronted at gunpoint early Thursday morning. The video, from the victim’s own dash cam, shows three male suspects approach the 46-year-old victim’s car while the he was pulling away from his parking spot just before 3:00 am on Thursday morning at 12th Avenue South and South Cloverdale Street.
One of the suspects, an Asian or Hispanic male in his 20’s and armed with a hand gun, approached the driver’s side window and pressed the gun against the victim’s head, demanding his car. The other suspects went to the passenger’s side of the car and attempted to open the door. The armed suspect then struck the victim with the gun several times in the head before the victim was able to drive away.
The victim told officers later that he did not see or hear any shots, however, officers were several blocks away for earlier reports of shots fired in the area. Officers did see a light-colored hatchback occupied by several people leaving South Park southbound at that time but were unable to stop it. Anyone with information on the suspects or the light-colored hatchback is asked to contact the Seattle Police Robbery Unit at (206) 684-5535.
