Man Arrested After Pulling Stolen Gun on Semi-Truck Driver

Officers arrested an 18-year-old man Thursday after a pulled a gun on a semi-truck driver in the South Park neighborhood.

The semi driver was reportedly backing into a loading dock near 8th Avenue South and South Monroe Street around 3:30 PM when he blocked the suspect’s path as he walked down the sidewalk. The driver later told police that when he noticed he’d cut the man off he climbed out of his truck to apologize, only to have the suspect pull out a gun and point it at him.

The driver got back into his truck and the suspect walked away, turning back briefly to gesture as if he was going to shoot the truck driver.

Police found suspect a short time later in the 500 block of South Portland Street and arrested him.

When they searched his backpack, they found a handgun, which had been reported stolen in Issaquah in 2015.

Officers booked the 18-year-old manĀ for assault and possession of a stolen firearm.
