Officers arrested a 34-year-old caterer Friday after he pulled a gun and fired several shots during a road rage incident on Beacon Hill.
The victims in the incident were stopped at a traffic light near Rainier Ave. S. and S Bayview St. just before 4 pm when a white catering van tried to pull into their lane, nearly striking their car. When the victims honked at the van, the van’s driver pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the victims. The victims ran the red light to escape the situation and heard gunshots behind them before losing sight of the van.
Officers caught up to the suspect’s van on the 12 Ave. S. bridge and quickly placed the suspect under arrest. Officers could clearly see a bag of hallucinogenic mushrooms sitting on the center console of the van. Officers served a search warrant on the van and located a loaded pistol and 5.9 grams of mushrooms.
Officers booked the suspect into King County Jail for investigation of drive-by shooting.
