Man Wounded In Early-Morning Shooting

One man was wounded early Wednesday in a drive-by shooting in South Seattle.

Just after midnight, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 3900 block of South Othello Street.

Officers arriving at the store were approached by a  28-year-old man who was holding a blood-soaked towel to his face and asking for an ambulance.  The victim showed officers two gunshot wounds, one to his cheek and the other to his shoulder.

Seattle fire medics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers spoke to witnesses, who said the victim was in the parking lot when he was approached by someone in a white or silver sedan. The victim was reportedly involved in a confrontation with the occupants of the vehicle, just before the car pulled away and shots were fired.

The shooting also damaged the windows of a nearby grocery store. No one inside the store was injured.

Officers searched the area for a suspect vehicle but were unable to find it.

Police are investigating and are asking anyone with information to call (206) 625-5011.
