Man Caught With Stolen Chili After Breaking Into Tow Yard to Prowl Cars

Officers arrested a 41-year-old man at a North Seattle auto tow yard early this morning after he sneaked into the fenced lot, broke into several vehicles and stole several cans of stew.

Around 2:15 this morning, drivers at a tow yard in the 12200 block of Aurora Avenue North spotted the man inside a silver BMW, which didn’t belong to him.

Officers arrived and arrested the suspect inside the lot, which has reportedly recently been targeted by prowlers.

The man admitted he had also broken into two other vehicles, including an RV in the tow lot, from which he had stolen “two cans of chili beans.”

Officers recovered two cans of chili and soup from the suspect’s backpack, along with a stun gun, and booked him into the King County Jail for investigation of burglary.
