Three teenagers were arrested Thursday after officers found a shotgun, a high-powered rifle and a handgun inside their bullet-damaged vehicle, shortly after receiving reports of gunfire in Rainier Beach.
Officers were headed to 53rd Avenue South and South Hamlet Street around 3:45 PM to investigate the gunfire when they spotted a Lexus sedan—which had a bullet hole in its windshield—pull into a parking lot in the 8800 block of Rainier Avenue South.
After contacting four people inside the vehicle, officers found a pistol-grip shotgun, AR-15 style rifle and handgun in the front and back seats of the car.
Officers arrested three male passengers in the car—two 18-year olds and a 17-year-old—and booked them for weapons violations. The 21-year-old driver was released pending further investigation.
No one was injured in the shooting.
