The Seattle Police 90-day body worn video pilot program has concluded. The department will apply experience gained during the pilot to a future and permanent body worn video program.
Before moving forward, the Honorable James L. Robart will decide whether or not officers should be able to review body worn video footage before writing reports involving most Type 1 and Type 2 use of force incidents. Additionally, the department hopes to reach an agreement with the Seattle Police Officers’ Guild prior to implementing a permanent body worn video program.
