Gang unit detectives are investigating after a man was shot in the First Hill neighborhood early Sunday morning.
Witnesses began calling 911 just before 1 AM Sunday saying that shots had been fired near 16 Ave and East Madison St.
Officers arrived and found a man who had been shot while standing in a nearby parking lot. The victim said the suspect shot multiple times, entered a waiting car and drove away. The victim was struck once in the back and leg.
Seattle fire department medics took the man to Harborview Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. Officers collected shell casings and additional evidence at the scene. Gang unit detectives will be conducting all followup investigations.
