Officers arrested three teens Wednesday night after they robbed a man in the Pinehurst neighborhood.
A 20-year-old told police he was walking in the 11400 block of Roosevelt Way around 11:30 PM when the three suspects walked up to him and asked him for a dollar. When the victim told the teens he didn’t have any money, they demanded his backpack and phone and began punching him. The suspects then fled with the victim’s backpack, laptop, watch and cellphone.
The victim borrowed a bystander’s cellphone, called 911 and gave police a description of the suspects. Officers tracked down the trio–one 18-year-old and two 16-year-old, all male–and found they were still carrying the victim’s stolen items. One of the teens was even wearing the victim’s wristwatch. An SPD K-9 team also recovered the victim’s cellphone from a park, where officers had located one of the suspects.
Police booked the 18-year-old into King County Jail and the two juveniles into the King County Youth Services Center for investigation of robbery.
