Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) are attempting to identify and locate the driver involved in a hit and run injury collision downtown Thursday morning. The collision injured a 57 -year old female pedestrian. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.
Shortly after 10:00 am, officers and Seattle Fire responded to the collision at 3rd Avenue and Spring Street. According to witnesses, a light-blue 1992 Buick LeSabre 4-door, Washington license plate AAX0980 with distinctive chrome rims driven by an unidentified black male struck the pedestrian in the crosswalk and then drove off eastbound on Spring Street. Detectives followed up with the registered owner and discovered that the car had been recently sold. The intersection at 3rd and Spring was closed for a time while detectives conducted their investigation, but it has since reopened.
