Police Seize Two Guns, Arrest Wanted Felon

Members of the Seattle Police Department, Department of Corrections and Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms seized two handguns–including one with an extended magazine–earlier this month as they tracked, and ultimately arrested, a 30-year-old man affiliated with a South Seattle gang.

In late April, an SPD Gang Unit detective began working with the Department of Corrections (DOC) to search for the man, after he allegedly committed a robbery in Federal Way while on DOC supervision for previous felony firearms convictions.

Officers tracked the man to apartment complex in South Seattle and located his SUV, but weren’t immediately able to find him. However, detectives seized his vehicle and later, on June 2nd, served a warrant on the SUV and found a handgun inside.

Three days later, detectives located the suspect at the same apartment complex and took him into custody. In a search of a nearby apartment, officers recovered a lockbox–believed to belong to the suspect–and pried it open, revealing a handgun with an extended magazine.

Authorities booked the man into jail for a DOC violation and robbery.
