A man is recovering in the hospital and detectives are investigating after a shooting in Golden Gardens Park Tuesday night.
Witnesses began calling 911 around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday to report shots fired inside Golden Gardens Park. Officers arrived and were approached by a man who stated that he had been shot in the back. Officers provided aid to the man until Seattle Fire Department medics could attend to the graze wound the man had suffered. Medics eventually took the man to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment.
Officers searched the park and found 21 rifle rounds and six .380 rounds in the area where witnesses said the shooting took place. The witnesses said there was a fight disturbance in the park just before an unidentified man pulled out a rifle and began firing shots, a second unidentified man then pulled out a handgun and returned fire.
