Officers Investigating After Tires Slashed on Over 20 Vehicles on Capitol Hill

Police are conducting emphasis patrols in north Capitol Hill after someone slashed the tires of over 20 vehicles sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday, around 9:30 AM, a victim in the 900 block of Harvard Avenue East called 911 after finding their car’s tire had been punctured. Officers spoke with the victim who told them multiple other cars in the area had also been targeted.  Officers then began searching the area and found 25 cars and one motorcycle in the surrounding blocks had all been damaged in the same manner.

Victims have been unable to provide any type of suspect description and officers are now working to find any private surveillance cameras that may have caught a possible suspect. Officers searched the neighborhood for hours on Wednesday in an effort to locate damaged vehicles and leave contact information for owners and victims, but were not able to make contact with all potential victims.
