SPD Detectives, working with the King County Medical Examiner’s office, have determined the 49-year-old woman in this case died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Detectives are investigating after an apparent homicide near an International District homeless camp.
Officers responded to the 900 block of South Jackson Street just after 6 p.m. for a report of a woman who had been injured. When officers arrived they found a woman who had a severe injury to the head. Officers called for Seattle Fire Department Medics who transported the woman to Harborview Medical Center where she was declared dead.
Homicide detectives are now interviewing possible witnesses to develop a suspect description. Detectives will work with the King County medical examiner’s office to determine cause of death.
