Detectives Investigating Following Fatal Shooting in West Seattle

UPDATE 10/4:  A 19-year-old male was arrested this afternoon in Auburn by the Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force.  The suspect will be booked into the King County Jail after he has been interviewed by detectives.  This remains an active and on-going investigation.

 

UPDATE 9/20:  Detectives arrested a 21-year-old female this morning in Burien.  After being interviewed by detectives, she was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of murder.  Detectives are still seeking a second suspect.  Investigators do not believe that this shooting was a random act.  This remains an active and on-going investigation.  Anyone with information is urged to contact Seattle Police at (206) 233-5000.

 

Detectives are investigating following the fatal shooting of a man earlier this evening near 31st Avenue SW and SW Thistle Street.

Just before 7:00 pm, Seattle Police and Seattle Fire responded to reports of a shooting and a person down in the 8100 block of 31st Avenue SW.  Seattle Fire medics attempted life-saving measures but despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have limited suspect description at this time, however, it is believed that the suspect fled the scene on foot and then left the area in a car.

Detectives from the Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigations Unit  responded to the scene and have begun their investigation.  Anyone with information on this shooting, or who may have information pertaining to the suspect or suspect vehicle is asked to contact Seattle Police on the tip line at (206) 233-5000.
