Two men are recovering at Harborview Medical Center from non life-threatening injuries following a shooting that occurred in Columbia City Friday evening.
At 5:35 pm Seattle Police and Fire responded to a reported shooting and vehicle collision at Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and South Edmunds Street. According to witnesses at the scene, the victim driver and passenger were travelling south on MLK at South Snoqualmie when the vehicle they were in was shot at from another vehicle. Both victims received non life-threatening injuries. The suspect vehicle, a black sedan, was last seen travelling west on Snoqualmie.
The victim driver drove at a high rate of speed before striking three other vehicles and stopping at MLK and South Edmunds Street. Police and SFD contacted the victims there and SFD medics transported the two victims to Harborview for treatment.
The Sound Transit Link Light Rail service was temporarily suspended while officers worked to clear the collision scene on MLK. Service was resumed a short time later.
Detectives from the Gang Unit responded and began their investigation. The Gang Unit will handle the follow up investigation.
