Gang Detectives Investigating South Park Shooting

One person is recovering from gun shot wounds at the hospital and detectives from the Gang Unit are investigating.

At approximately 11:20 pm Friday night 911 began receiving calls of shots fired at or near 12 Av S and S Donovan St. There were reports that at least one person was struck by gunfire and had been transported to a nearby fire station at 800 S Cloverdale St. Southwest Precinct patrol officers responded and secured two scenes, the shooting location and the fire station. The victim and witnesses were uncooperative providing little information. The victim and witnesses did report they were standing outside a house near the intersection when shots were fired. After being treated at the fire station the victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center.

Gang detectives responded to process the scenes. At the fire station detectives attempted to get statements and impounded the vehicle that transported the victim. At the shooting location photos were taken,  shell casings and other evidence was collected. Detectives responded to HMC to obtain the condition of the victim. At this time the victim’s injuries are non-life threatening. An uninvolved house was struck by one bullet.

This remains an active and on-going investigation.
