Detectives are investigating after three people were shot in Belltown Thursday morning leaving two dead.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired near 5th Avenue and Battery Street around 12:30 a.m. Officers arrived and found three people with possible gunshot wounds. The officers began providing first aid to the victims until Seattle Fire Medics arrived. Medics took over and later pronounced two people dead at the scene, while the third victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment.
Witnesses told detectives that two groups of people were in a disturbance just prior to the shot being fired. They went on to say the suspects fled the scene on foot. Detectives are working with the witnesses to develop a possible suspect description at this time.
