Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a group of motorcyclists who pulled a gun on a man during an assault on Aurora last August.
At approximately 5:30 pm on August 26th, a 39-year-old man in a pickup truck was stopped at a red light in the 7300 block of Aurora Avenue North when he was surrounded by a large group of motorcyclists. According to witnesses, there were in excess of one hundred motorcycles travelling throughout the city in a large group that day.
While stopped at the traffic light, a number of motorcyclists began beating on the side of the victim’s truck and yelling at the driver. The victim called 911 and then got out to confront the suspects. A group of riders descended on the victim, hitting and kicking him. At least one suspect, dressed in a grey motorcycle jacket and tan pants, pointed a handgun at the victim.
The suspects fled on motorcycles in different directions as officers were arriving. Fortunately, the victim was not seriously injured.
While the incident was captured on video, the suspects are all wearing helmets, making identification difficult. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this group and/or incident to contact them at (206) 684-5550.
