South precinct bike officers arrested a man wanted in connection with a February robbery while on patrol in the Dunlap neighborhood Monday afternoon.
Officers were dispatched to investigate a commercial robbery in the 4400 block of Rainier Avenue South February 22nd at 8:30 a.m.When they arrived a manager at the store told them a man entered the store, cornered a clerk and stole multiple bottles of booze. The suspect then exited the store and fled on foot. Officers searched the area but were unable to find the suspect. Robbery detectives collected surveillance video and forwarded photos to officers who worked in the area. Detectives also believed the same suspect was responsible for multiple other robberies in the area.
Fast forward to Monday, March 5th at 2:30 p.m. Officers Todd Jones and Bruce Case of the South precinct bike squad spotted the 30-year-old suspect at the intersection of Rainier Avenue South and South Fisher Place and immediately recognized him from the surveillance photos. The officers took the suspect into custody without further incident and was booked into King County Jail for investigation of robbery.
