Bike Officers Arrest Suspect, Provide First Aid to Stabbing Victim Downtown

Bicycle officers were in the area of 3rd and Pike when they were flagged down about an altercation involving a knife just after 1:00 pm Friday afternoon.  The officers located two men wrestling over a knife and quickly brought the fight under control.  Officers arrested a 34-year-old male, and discovered that the other man in the altercation, a 32-year-old male, had two knife wounds to his lower side and upper chest.  Additional officers arrived and provided scene control for the large gathering crowd while the primary bicycle officers provided first aid to the victim until the Seattle Fire Department arrived.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect was later booked into the King County Jail for investigation of assault.  Detectives will handle the follow up investigation.
