Detectives are investigating after a man was shot following a disturbance in the Northgate neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.
A man called 911 just before 6 p.m. to report he had just shot a man in the 11200 block of 8 Avenue Northeast. Officers quickly arrived and found the man, along with the man he had shot. Officers provided first-aid to the shooting victim until Seattle Fire Department medics could take the man to Harborview Medical Center.
The shooter told officers he had been approached by the victim, who threatened him with a knife. The man then said he shot the victim, striking him four times.
Officers searched the area and located a knife and recovered the firearm used. Detectives are now interviewing the man and will work with the prosecutor to determine if any charges will be filed.
