Detectives are conducting the investigation following an overnight shooting that seriously injured one man.
Shortly after 3:00 am Wednesday a caller contacted 911 reporting there was a man with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of a 7-11 store in the 8200 block of Lake City Way NE. Officers arrived and located the 40-year-old male in the parking lot. The victim had been shot several times. Officers immediately began CPR, until the Seattle Fire Department responded and took over the medical treatment, eventually transporting the victim to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Officers began the initial investigation, but did not locate a suspect. Officers did collect evidence at the scene. Detectives from the Homicide and Assault Unit and Gang Unit responded as well.
It is believed that the suspect and the victim, who may be acquainted, got into an argument in the parking lot prior to the shooting. There is no suspect description at this time.
This remains an active and on-going investigation. Anyone with information on this morning’s shooting is asked to contact the tip line at (206) 233-5000.
