Seattle Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 20th Avenue South and South Lucile around noon on Wednesday. The victim, a juvenile male, ran to Cleveland High School several blocks away, where he reported the incident as an attempted carjacking. The victim was treated for a scratch, not a gunshot wound as earlier reported.
The victim stated that the suspects were known to him and provided information to responding officers. As officers were investigating the initial call, the suspects were observed nearby in a vehicle. The suspects, believed to be all juveniles, ran from the vehicle and into a heavily wooded greenbelt near Dearborn Park.
Officers, including K-9 officers, searched the area and located and detained four suspects in the wooded area. The suspects are being interviewed by detectives.
Robbery detectives responded to the scene and will be handling the follow up investigation. This remains an active and on-going investigation.
