Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday night at 1st Avenue and Cherry Street. The victim, a 34-year-old man, was shot in the stomach and was later transported to Harborview Medical Center by the Seattle Fire Department in critical condition.
At approximately 10:50 pm officers responded to reports of a shooting at 1st Avenue and Cherry Street. An off-duty officer located the victim and began performing life-saving measures until responding officers arrived. According to witnesses, there was a disturbance between several people just prior to the shooting. The best description of the suspect is a black male, 20’s, wearing a dark top and dark pants. The suspect was believed to have fled the scene southbound on 1st Avenue South.
Officers searched the area but were unable to locate a suspect.
