A suspect is now in custody following an attempted bank robbery late Monday afternoon in the 2700 block of 1st Avenue South.
At approximately 4:15 pm, Seattle Police responded to a report of a robbery in progress inside the bank. The report indicated that an adult male had handed a employee a written note demanding money and that the suspect was still inside the bank.
The employees still inside the bank were able to shelter in a secure area inside the building while officers responded and surrounded the building.
The suspect surrendered to police and was taken into custody without incident. There were no reports of any injuries.
Robbery detectives and the FBI will handle the follow up investigation. This remains an active and on-going investigation.
