North Precinct patrol officers responded to a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian just before 6 p.m. tonight at the intersection of N 85th Street and Palatine Avenue N.
An 80-year-old female pedestrian sustained life threatening injuries during the collision. Seattle Fire medics immediately transported her to Harborview Medical Center for emergency treatment.
The 74-year-old male driver of the involved car was uninjured.
Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) detectives responded to the scene to process the collision site, collect forensic evidence, and interview the driver and any other witnesses.
An officer with Drug Recognition Expert certification evaluated the driver, but did not detect any signs of impairment.
This remains an active and ongoing TCIS investigation.
