Detectives Investigating Friday Night Capitol Hill Homicide

Witnesses began calling 911 around 11:50 p.m. Friday to report shots fired near the intersection of Broadway and Pike Street. Police quickly flooded the area and found a male who had been struck by a bullet. Officers called for medics but the man was declared dead at the scene.

Additional officers detained one person nearby who they are currently interviewing.

Homicide Detectives responded to the scene, and with the help of the CSI unit, collected evidence and witness statements. Detectives believe this shooting started as part of a fight disturbance an the investigation is ongoing.
