Can You Help Detectives ID University District Voyeur?

UPDATE:

Based on tips from the community, detectives took the suspect into custody late Tuesday afternoon.  The 26-year-old man was arrested without incident and later booked into the King County Jail for felony voyeurism.  Detectives are working with the King County Prosecutor’s Office, and this remains an active and on-going investigation.

ORIGINAL:

Sexual Assault Unit detectives are investigating multiple voyeurism cases reported in the University District.

Police have received multiple reports, beginning of May 2018 and continuing though last week, of a man looking into ground floor windows of apartment buildings and houses.  Often times he will look into a window and tap of the glass to get the victim’s attention while he is masturbating. Police believe these crimes were committed by the same individual.

The suspect, a white male believed to be in his late 20s to early 30s, has brown hair and “scruffy” facial hair.  He is described as being average height and weight and is most often seen wearing a dark jacket and jeans. Several times the suspect has been photographed.  The colored  images were taken in October of 2018 while the black and white images occurred in February 2019.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity, or anyone who believes they may have been victimized and have not yet reported the incident are asked to contact Det. Gallegos in the Sexual Assault Unit at (206) 684-9298.
