Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in the Pioneer Square neighborhood. Two people were injured, but the injuries are considered non life-threatening. The suspect or suspects were not located.
At approximately 2:15 am Sunday 911 began receiving calls of shots fired near 2nd Avenue South and South Washington Street. According to witnesses, a physical fight between two groups of individuals escalated into gunfire. Two people were injured as a result. The Seattle Fire Department responded and transported the victims to Harborview Medical Center where they are being treated for their injuries. Several parked cars were also damaged during the shooting.
Gang detectives responded and processed the scene. Detectives will conduct the follow up investigation. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Seattle Police.
