Detectives are investigating after two people were shot Sunday night following a fight in a Rainier Beach liquor store.
Officers were dispatched to the 9000 block of Rainier Avenue South at 10 p.m. to investigate reports of a shooting. When officers arrived they were approached by a 21-year-old man who had been shot multiple times, including in the neck and clavicle.
Seattle Fire Department (SFD) Medics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
As officers were treating the first victim, a 16-year-old boy walked up with a gunshot wound to the hand.
SFD medics took the boy to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives reviewed security video from inside the liquor store and determined that both victims were involved in a fight in the store when a black male in his 20’s pulls out a gun and starts firing, striking the two victims. Detectives are now looking for the suspect and are asking for anyone who may have seen the man–described as a black male with a slender build, wearing a dark Nike hooded sweatshirt and dark pants–to call the non-emergency line at 206-625-5011.
