Officers Recover Handgun, Drugs From Man in Queen Anne Encampment

Police seized a handgun, methamphetamine and heroin after searching for a suspected drug dealer in an encampment in a greenbelt on Queen Anne on Monday.

Officers had received information about narcotics dealing in a tent in an encampment in a wooded area near the 1900 block of Taylor Avenue North, and learned the man involved in the alleged drug sales was wanted on a warrant.

Police contacted the 25-year-old man on Monday, along with a 41-year-old man who was with him in a tent, who was also wanted on a warrant.

Police found the 41-year-old was carrying a loaded handgun, which had a partially obliterated serial number, five grams of meth and 1.3 grams of heroin.

Both men were booked into the King County Jail.
