Detectives Investigating After West Seattle Crash Sends Man to Hospital

Detectives are investigating after a man was struck by a truck in the 5700 block of Admiral Way Southwest Monday morning.

Witnesses began calling 911 just after 8:45 am to report a man had been struck by a Ford Ranger traveling westbound in the 5700 block of Admiral Way Southwest. When police arrived they found a man with a life-threatening head injury in the westbound lanes of traffic.

Seattle Fire Department Medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries where he is currently receiving treatment.

A Drug Recognition Expert responded to the scene and interviewed the driver who showed no signs of impairment. Traffic collision detectives are now working to determine what may have contributed to the crash.
