SPD Gang Unit detectives, working with the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and FBI Safe Streets Taskforce, arrested a 24-year-old gang member in the Central District and seized a stolen handgun and narcotics on Tuesday.
Gang detectives located the man driving in the Central District around noon, pulled him over near 29th Avenue and East Madison Street and took him into custody. Police seized the man’s vehicle and obtained a warrant to search the car, where they found a loaded, stolen 9mm handgun under the driver’s seat, and a backpack in the rear of the vehicle, containing 3.4 grams of heroin and 1.8 grams of crack cocaine.
Police booked the man into the King County Jail for unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property, and narcotics possession.
