Injury Collision Investigation at Boren and Madison, Driver Arrested for DUI

Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) detectives responded to an early morning two- vehicle injury collision at Madison Street and Boren Avenue.  One of the drivers showed signs of impairment and was arrested and booked into jail.

At approximately 2:10 am Friday a Cadillac driven by a 30-year-old male was travelling westbound when it failed to stop for a red light at Madison and Boren.  The Cadillac collided with a Hyundai occupied by four people in the intersection.  The collision caused the Hyundai to roll over and collide with the bank building at the southwest corner of the intersection.

Seattle Fire responded and extricated the four occupants from the Hyundai and transported them to Harborview Medical Center. The extent of the injuries are not yet known, but they are not considered life-threatening.  The driver of the Cadillac was uninjured.  He was evaluated at the scene by an officer and was determined to be impaired.  He was arrested and later booked into the King County Jail.

TCIS detectives responded and began their investigation.  This remains an active and on-going investigation.
