Officers Arrest Man, Recover Firearms After Domestic Violence Incident

Domestic Violence detectives are investigating after a man pointed a realistic-looking pellet gun at his mother and threatened to kill her in the Seward Park neighborhood Thursday night.

Officers were dispatched to a home in the Seward Park neighborhood for a report of a 39-year-old man who had pointed a gun at a 72-year-old woman who is also the man’s mother. When police arrived at the home the man had left but the woman told officers the man had pointed a gun at her and asked her if she wanted to die. Officers searched for the man but were unable to locate him.

A few hours later the woman called 911 again to say the man had returned home. Officers went back to the house and took the man into custody without further incident. Police searched the home and recovered the pellet gun as well as three additional handguns.

Officers booked the man into King County Jail for investigation of domestic violence threats.
