Detectives are investigating after a man was shot in Belltown late Thursday night.
Witnesses began calling in reports of shots fired and a person down on the ground at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Bell Street just before 11 pm. Police arrived within two minutes and found the 35-year-old man with a single gunshot wound to the leg. Officers applied a tourniquet to the wounded leg and called for medics.
Seattle Fire Department medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
An officer searching the area located a handgun that had been tossed in a nearby dumpster. A K-9 track for the suspects, however, was unsuccessful.
Gang Unit detectives are now working with witnesses to develop a suspect description.
