Robbery detectives are investigating two armed robberies that occurred Monday evening. Detectives believe the same suspects robbed both businesses.
Just before 6:00 pm, three black males wearing surgical masks, hoods over their heads, and gloves entered a pharmacy in the 4200 block of South Othello Street. Two of the suspects were armed with guns. The suspects stole a bag from the store and fled to a vehicle, which sped off.
South Precinct patrol officers responded and a K-9 team attempted a track, but they were unable to find the suspects. Robbery Unit detectives responded to the scene to begin their investigation.
Detectives believe that, thirty minutes later, the same three suspects, again armed with firearms, entered a grocery store in the 2200 block of East Madison Street. Two of the suspects jumped the counter of the pharmacy and forced the employees to open a safe. The suspects took prescription medication and fled out the door prior to police being called.
East Precinct officers responded immediately after the call was dispatched and a K-9 team attempted another track but they could not locate the suspects. Robbery detectives responded and processed the scene and interviewed witnesses.
This remains an active and on-going investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Seattle Police Robbery Unit at (206) 233-5000.
